The National Directorate of Employment NDE in Niger State has commenced the training of one hundred (100) youths consisting of males and females in modern agriculture and marketing system under Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS).
State Coordinator Niger NDE, Alhaji Abdulmalik Liman Abubakar made the disclosure yesterday in an interview in Minna, saying that the scheme was aimed at creating job for the teaming unemployed youths in the country particularly in the state.
He explained that beneficiaries are to acquired skills to be self employed rather than waiting for color jobs that is not forthcoming in contemporary society.
Abubakar stated that participants were selected across the entire 25 local governments to avoid lopsidedness through job center window created to register candidates for selection who are SSCE school leavers interested.
The Coordinator further revealed that aside the agricultural trying they will also acquired basic marketing and business training on how to make returns while they will be link up with appropriate organization to have access to start up capital with ease.
He said that the duration of the training by resource persons is for three months but would begun a three weeks intensive theory aspect before the practical aspects through adoptative experimental farm set up for the Programme.
