Niger state government has signed into law the establishment of Security Trust Fund to enhance sustainable and adequate funding for security activities in times of human and equipments provision for effective operations.
The Secretary to the State Government SSG, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane disclosed this after the state executive council meeting at government house in Minna.
Matane explained that the bill has been assented to by governor Abubakar Sani Bello, adding that it has created opportunity for private sectors and individuals to donate through corporate social responsibility to avoid solely depending on governments to contain issues of security.
He stressed that the committee members are to be independent and will be led by a chairman who will be screened by the state assembly for confirmation.
