The Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has urged all well meaning Nigerians to join hands with APC governors and others stakeholders in the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari and calling him to declare for 2019, because his resistance will draw the country backward in an effort to revive the nation’s economic development.
Bello made the disclosure at the weekend when he received on solidarity visit the people of his home town Kontagora at government house Minna, saying that Nigerians will not regret if Buhari is elected for the second term to govern the country.
He said that the All Progressives Congress APC governors declared support for Buhari was aimed at continuity and sustainability of his good work of reviving the country from its economic woos and fighting corruption to appreciable manner.
“If President Muhammadu Buhari resists to contest in 2019, there will be problem in solving the enormous challenges facing the country, because he is truthful, fair and just in administering the nation.”
Governor Bello appreciated the visit by his people and calling on him to re-contest come 2019. He added that this has strengthened his desire to provide more dividend of democracy to the electorates.
He however assured to complete all the ongoing projects in Kontagora town within this year, which includes the Dam for the water board, Nursing School Kontagora, Civil Defense School and renovation of schools, as well as creating jobs and assisting businesses.
He charged on the people to be united in giving their maximum support to the state and Federal government, and assured the visitors that despite the financial challenges he was able to manage the state resources judiciously to achieve development; and will do more when re elected come 2019.
The Coordinator, Alhaji Muazu Bawa Rijau in his remarks stated that the people were satisfied with the achievements of Governor Bello in the last three years, hence the call for his re- contest because of his prudence management.
Rijau explained that other two zones of Zone A and B had their two tenure of 8 years each, and, therefore, zone C will not be exceptional from the state zonal arrangement put in place for peaceful coexistence of all.
The spokesman of the delegation, General S.D Saidu and the elder of the group, Alhaji Mahmud Najume, in their separate remarks, said that they were impressed with the governor’s performance and the zone has endorsed him for second term and charged him to do more in times of development in Kontagora.
