The coordinator of Niger State FADAMA 111, Engr. Aliyu Usman Kutigi has declared war against corruption in the agriculture sector.
It has also indicated that it will join the Federal Government’s in fight against corruption.
Kutigi made the stated this at a one day workshop on “Change Begins with me” an Anti- Corruption Crusade for FADAMA 111 Critical Stakeholders to improve their technical knowhow in fighting corruption.
He explained that this will equip its stakeholders especially the facilitators, desk officers and management staff who were involved in the distribution of farm inputs to the farmers and in other crucial activities.
The coordinator said that the anti- corruption crusade was vital in all segments of the society just to ensure that people do that who he or she does therefore, the agency is working in line with the Federal government policy of anti- corruption in the country.
A participant and desk officer from Tafa local government, Christiana Simon in an interview applauded the effort of the agency for the workshop assured to transmit same to the farmers at the grassroots.
The Coordinator and Director of Programme in Northern States, International Institute of Leadership and Governance, Alhaji Danladi Abdulhamid in an interview hinted that the essence of the workshop was to learn and remind Nigerians on doing the right thing at any given moment.
He said that some of the recent Nigerian leaders have derail from the founding fathers that plunged the country in to the current challenges hence needed to stop discrimination, corruption, indiscipline and all negative tendencies.
