Niger CP reads riot act to criminals

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Police Command, Mrs. Diseye Desire Nsirim has warned criminals to stay clear from the state, failure of which the Command will not only clamp down on them, but will also bring them to book to serve as deterrent to undesirable elements.

She handed down the warning at the police headquarter in Minna during the decorations of officers with their new ranks. Some 111 Officers and men of the 12 Police Mobile Force, Minna were recently promoted to the next ranks by the Inspector General of Police and the Police management team, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Among thosr promoted were 78 Police Constables who were promoted to Police Corporals , as 11 Corporals were also elevated to the rank of Sergeants, while 18 Sergeants were promoted to Inspectors of Police and four Inspectors of Police were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police[ 11] respectively.

Nsirim, who was represented at the ceremony by both the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Operation Department of the Command, Mr. Emmanuel Olokor and the Squadron Commander 12 P.M.F. Minna Mr. Yahaya Jelani Jega a Superintendent of Police , described the occasion as yet another memorable event in the Nigeria Police Force.

She said, “as I rejoice with our courageous colleagues who have been elevated in their various cadres, I want to advice you not to let down the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed D. Abubakar. and the Police Management Team.”

The Police Boss also noted that the recent promotions exercise within the Nigeria Police Force , will no doubt motivate the Officers and Men to put more zeal in the performance of their duties adding: “to whom much is given, much is expected”.
