Niger: APC aggrieved members urged to shelve swords in Munya LG

All Progressives Congress, APC, aggrieved members in Munya local government of Niger State has been urged to shelve their sword and embrace peace if meaningful development must be achieved in the area.
The State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Danjuma Sallau gave the advice yesterday at a stakeholders’ meeting held at Sarkin Pawa, the headquarter of the local council.
Sallau, who was the convener of the meeting, hinted that the parley was aimed at bringing the members, especially the aggrieved to a round table towards repositioning the APC in the area to enabled them benefit rapidly from dividend of democracy at the local and state levels.
The commissioner has lamented that the crisis has impacted negatively on the local government noting that the prerequisite for any meaningful growth and development is the availability of peaceful coexistence.
The State Party (APC), Chairman, Engr. Mohammed Jibrin Imam who was represented by the Assistant Treasurer, Alhaji Audu Ibrahim assured to give maximum support for any initiative aimed at encouraging peaceful coexistence amongst party members.
In same vein, member representing Munya local government in the State Assembly, Hon. John Paul Bahago in his remarks, solicited the party executives to step down the meeting to the wards and units to achieve the desired goals and aspiration.
Consequently, most of the party members who spoke at the event however unanimously accepted to work together as a team while calling for a concrete steps to be taken in empowering women and youths in the area to enhanced self reliance and sustenance economically.
