The Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Niger States, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Lalalo, has stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, irrespective of tribal, religious or political differences.
The chairman made the disclosure in his office in Minna, Chanchaga Local Government headquarters, saying that no meaningful development can be achieved in a crisis situation but that dialogue, no matter the circumstance, is the key.
He called on the 25 local Government council chairmen in the state to give him the desired support and cooperation that would help to make the difference, promising to ensure transparency, fairness and equity for the entrenchment of good governance.
He assured ALGON members that he would run an open door policy for their constructive advice to move the association to the next level of development at the grass roots.
He made a passionate appeal to the state government to do more on the completion of on-going Minna-Kataeragi-Bida Road for the speedy development of the state and Nigeria at large considering the importance of that particular route in Niger state.
Lalalo however, urged Nigerlites to continue to give their support to the present administration of Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello in order to enjoy the desirable dividends of democracy in the state.
He added that leaders will not change for the better by abuse, but rather by support, loyalty, obedience and prayers while charging the citizens to be patient with governments who are doing everything possible to better the lots of the people they serve.
