NGO flags off campaign on good governance in Kebbi

A Nongovernmental Organization, Foundation for the Advancement of Ethics and Values in Nigeria (FAEVN) Kebbi state chapter has concluded arrangements to flag-off a sensitization campaign to educate the general public on ethics and values as well the need to elect people with proven integrity.
Speaking to newsmen in Birnin kebbi, the state Coordinator of the NGO, Alhaji Lawal Shuwa (Warizin Arewa) explained that the organization would formally flag off the programme in the state as general elections draw nearer.
He said already officials to mind the organization at state level has since been selected awaiting inauguration while the local government and the wards levels are still underway, adding that the aimed was to educate the general public to be self-discipline in their day to day conducts so as to continue to have a peaceful society.
Shuwa further added that the organisation is not a money making venture but rather a sacrificial and a charity organization, He said the sensitization would also enlighten the general public, especially the electorates to ensure they voted people who would discharge to them a purposeful representation at any level they found themselves.
“I want to assured that immediately we flag off we will go to the interior and the remotest villages to sensitized our brothers and sisters on the need for good governance, we will envolve all stakeholders in a community that includes traditional leaders, religious and leaders of thoughts, youths of both gender”
He added that already membership forms had since been distributed across the state free of charge while registration fee is fixed at N500 for anybody wishing to participate in the exercise as the doors are widely open at all levels , similarly, he said the organization has no particular political party nor identify with any candidate.
According to him the opportunity would unveiled youths to become self-reliant and become useful to themselves and the society at large while warned that “This is something to do with integrity, discipline and character reformation and therefore, any member found wanting in the discharge of this aim would be shown the way out”
The coordinator thanked the government and people of Kebbi state for their support and cooperation, he assured that he would not relent in the effort to ensure the complete success of the organization in the state.
