In Non Governmental Organization (NGO) under the aegis of the Young Women Empowerment Development Initiative (YOWELDI), said allowing Nigerian women to rule is a critical factor in ridding the nation of corruption and achieving rapid transformation in every sphere of human endeavour.
YOWELDI in a press statement signed by its President, Hon. Alfa Mohammed also enjoined young women between age 18 and 35 years across the nation, to ensure they are registered in their various areas of domicile to enable them participate actively in the 2015 general election.
Against this back drop, the initiative said it is poised to encourage and seek sponsorship for them to contest all elective positions available for contest in various political parties all over the country in the forthcoming General Election.
The NGO revealed that it has lined up several empowerment and leadership training programs solely aimed at encouraging the Young Women to shun apathy to politics and aspire for leadership positions during elections.
Mohammed also stated that prominent women achievers within and outside the country have been penciled down to motivate and mentor the Young women.
The NGO which will be set for launch in October 2014 is targeting one million five hundred and forty five (1,545) membership strength at two thousand (2000) per each of the 774 Local Government Areas in the country, including Abuja in its ongoing membership registration.
