NGO earmarks N40m for less privileged in Bauchi

A non-governmental organization (NGO), Ark aid Christian Ministry in partnership with Great Commission Ministry, has earmarked over N40 million to support the less privileged in some societies in Bauchi state.

The money is to be used in the construction of some blocks of classrooms in Bogoro and Tafawa-Balewa local government areas of the state.

Co-ordinator of the NGO, Mr. Emmanual Tumi, disclosed this while addressing news men in Bauchi, noting that the beneficiaries are widows, children in the orphanage, as well as victims of crises in the area in order to improve their welfare.

Tumi disclosed that about N10 million was spent to settle the medical bills of two victims of attacks in Gargare village in Bogoro LGA while 40 windows were given a grant of N93, 000 each as empowerment.

He said the Ministry also distributed about 20 grinding machines, 25 motor-cycles, and artificial legs to cripples as measures to cushion the effect of their hardships.

He maintained that the NGO has been paying school fees to 52 orphanage children including their feeding in various communities apart from treating 200 of them in hospitals in the state.
