The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Aminu Maigari and his board members and management staff were conspicuously missing at the reception held for the members of the Super Eagles players and officials by the Nigeria Ambassador to Brazil.
A report had it that the occasion in Basilia, the capital city of Brazil was surprised to notice that no member of the federation was on ground for the reception.
Apart from the Ambassador, Adamu Emezozo who was the host of the occasion, the Nigeria minister of sports, Tamuno Danagogo and some of his National sports commission officials were also on ground.
It was reliably gathered that Aminu Maigari was reliably informed of the occasion and so could not have claimed ignorance. And not only that he did not come, he also did not communicate the message to other of his board members, as one of them who spoke with newsmen said that they were not aware of the occasion.
The League Management Committee chairman, Hon. Nduka Irabor who was also in Brasilia did not attend the occasion after been invited, though, he was said to be under the weather. LMC was then represented by mallam Shehu Dikko.
Speaking at the occasion, the Ambassador explained the reason for the hosting of the Super Eagles just after the team failed Nigerians by failing to qualify to the quarter final stage of the World cup in Brazil.
He said that though, the boys did not qualify as was been expected but maintained that it was also proper to celebrate the little they were able to achieve.
