Even as the draws for the Africa Women Championship have been announced, Super Falcon Chief Coach, Edwin Okon is still waiting on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on when the team would return to camp.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Okon revealed that he has submitted his AWC program to the federation detailing when he would love to have his team back in training ahead of their participation at this year Africa Women Championship billed to hold in Namibia.
He also said that he included the countries he would love to have his team play friendly matches with so as to keep the team in real competition mood ahead of the tournament.
“The fact is that I am waiting on the NFF to tell us when we should come to camp. As for me I have submitted my programs to them and I have told them the countries I would love to play friendly matches with.
“I said I would love to play China, Equatorial Guinea and any other top Africa countries that can really give us the kind of competition we want,”
Edwin Okon may have to wait a little longer as the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation are currently embroiled in crisis, and they have not really settled down to attend to other football matters since after the World cup in Brazil.
