The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have congratulated Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr who marked his 65th birthday in Essentuki, Russia yesterday.
Rohr was born on June 28, 1953 in Mannheim, Germany. The former OGC Nice manager was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles in 2016 and he steered the team to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Rohr has been in charge of the Super Eagles for 20 games, winning nine, losing six and drawing five. Rohr’s contract was extended by the NFF till 2020 after the qualification.
“Happy birthday to Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr,” NFF wrote on its official Twitter account.
In a related development, the NFF also wished Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun who turned 30 years yesterday l a Happy birthday as well. Balogun, a German-Nigerian defender was born on June 28, 1988 in Berlin Germany.
“Happy birthday Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun,” the NFF wrote on its Twitter handle.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria delegation to the 2018 World Cup, including Players and officials, is expected to arrive Abuja today, June 29.
Some of the players, it was gathered, have already left the hotel and dispersed to their different bases in Europe and so will not accompany the team to Abuja.
Nigeria crashed out of the Russia 2018 World Cup after losing its final matche 2-1 to Argentina on Tuesday.
