He gave the assurance yesterday while briefing newsmen in his office at the police headquarters along Gashua road in Damaturu, the state capital.
He expressed his deep appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, NPF, IGP. Abdul-Malik Sunmonu, who has served his country meritoriously, in the Nigeria Police Force for 35yrs.
“My posting to Yobe State as the new Commissioner of Police is a call for national service, which entails the responsibilities of providing dedicated strategic leadership; strengthening and refocusing the State Police Command in the discharge of its statutory mandate of crime prevention and public safety; as well as the maintenance of law and order in the State, among others. I intend to exert myself to the achievement of these objectives, with zeal and commitment,” he stated.
To achieve this objective, he said he has already received proper briefings from his predecessor, Abdul-Malik Sunmonu as well as the Command’s operational and tactical commanders on the security situation in the State.
