The recently deployed Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos state Police Command, Kenneth Nwosu a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) as part of his familiarization tour of his area of jurisdiction, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the secretariat of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), in Oduduwa Ikeja.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the association Mr. Christopher Orji told the image maker to emulate his predecessors, who, while in office maintained a robust relations with every members of the association, stressing that he stand to gain a lot from such relationship as he goes about his daily activities.
Speaking further, Orji will want Nwosu to improve on the enviable efforts of his immediate predecessor Ngozi Braide who although was the first female occupant of that office, performed creditably well that even her male counterpart were green with envy. He will want the Police Officer to complete the project the out-gone image maker embarked upon most especially the present CRAN secretariat that is dire need of structural facelift.
Proffering his advice, Orji said “You should, as a matter of caution, shun some fifth columnists, who will want to capitalize on your yet to know workings of crime beat which is a specialized department of journalism, to sow seeds of schism. Always make yourself available at all times to us most especially when it is pertinent that we have to cross-check our stories from you as they break”
In his response Nwosu thanked the members for their warm reception and promised to look into the areas the chairman highlighted with a view to addressing them holistically.
It will be recalled that Nwosu took over from Ngozi Braide, who has been re-deployed to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti Yaba
