Nestlé Nigeria Plc has recorded turnover worth N102 .6 billion in its unaudited third quarter result for period ended 30th September, 2014, thus showing an increase of 7.5 per cent over 2013 figure of N95.4.
Though its profit after tax dipped to N16.8 billion within the period from N17 billion written in the comparable period of 2013.
Nestle over the weekend held its Healthy Kids Parent- Child Nutrition workshop in Lagos.
Speaking in his opening remarks at the workshop, the Managing Director, Nestlé, Mr Dharnesh Gordhon urged parents to ensure that their children remain healthy by giving them balanced diets and engaging them in healthy physical activities.
He noted that Nestlé believed that it can contribute to the knowledge of nutrition , using education as a tool to help young children understand the value of nutrition and physical activity.
According to him, the the global Nestlé Healthy Kids which was launched in Nigeria in 2011 was born out the need to address complex issues plaguing the society generally under nutrition and obesity.
Gordhon assured that the aim of the workshop was to improve the nutrition , health and well being of school age children through improved diets, physical activity and hygiene.
” We believe that regular physical activity and healthy eating helps children achieve and maintain a healthy body weight, which will enable them to become healthy adults. Education is therefore a powerful tool to ensure that the children understand the value of nutrition and physical activity to their health throughout the course of their lives.
