NEMA donates relief materials to Sanga victims

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has donated relief materials to victims of attacks by gunmen in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State that were attacked by suspected gunmen few weeks ago.

Items donated to the victims  include 100 bags of millet, 400 bags of rice, 100 bags of maize, 100 bags of guinea corn, 30 cartons of Indomie Noodles, 100 bags of sugar, 300 cartoons of water, 50 cartons of milk and Milo, 20 cartons of red and groundnut oil.

Other items donated were 500 pieces of mattresses, 150 pieces of insecticide nets, 1000 each of Plastic spoons, plastic cup and 500 plastic buckets NEMA’s North-west zonal coordinator, Musa Ilellah who made the presentation in Sanga, said the palliatives were from the federal government.

According to him, if normalcy returns to the affected areas, the agency will  conduct an assessment for permanent settlement of the affected persons.

“We will come back again if peace returned to the affected communities for assessment. But  we should learn to live in peace with one another,” he said Kaduna state SEMA Executive Secretary,  Ishaku Dogo Makama, who received the materials on behalf of the state government, commended NEMA for the gesture.

He described what happened as unfortunate, saying they have done rapid assessment and presented palliatives to the victims at state level.

Sanga local government council Chairman, Emmanuel Adamu said they have a total of 27,371 displaced persons in seven camps, spread within the  councils.
