From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse

No fewer than 16 illegal drug users including one female were arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) Jigawa State Command at the premises of All Progressives Congress ( APC) headquarters Dutse.
This was confirmed to news men by the Deputy Controller in charge of Operation and Intelligence, Mr. Oko Michael adding that he personally led a team of security operatives to effect the raid and have so far arrested 16 suspects.
The raid which was carried out by the NDLEA on Sunday evening followed several complaints by the public of the activities of drug users that use the cover of the party office to perpetuate their illicit acts.
Mr. Michael declared that even though some suspected drug users have escaped into offices of the party headquarters when they cited our members however the team was able to arrest some suspected criminals in the middle of their illicit businesses.
He said they found several wraps of cannabis on three people at the point of the raid whom would be prosecuted latest today.
Also speaking, the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Nasiru Dahiru confirmed the raid and arrests by the NDLEA but he refuted that the suspects were members of the APC.
According to him, “even though we support the NDLEA in flushing out illicit drug users across the state there is no clear indication that those arrested were members of the APC even though they were arrested near our headquarters.”
