Over 50 persons were at the weekend empowered by the National Directorate of Employment, NDE in Otukpo and Ohimini local government areas of Benue State.
Items distributed to the beneficiaries include, Sewing and Grinding machines, Deep freezers, Generators, Hair driers and Tricycles.
In his speech, State Coordinator NDE Mr. Musa Bala Sadauki stated that the Directorate has evolved various strategies and steps over the years to address the menaces of unemployment through interventions which include enterprise and job creation for the people.
Mr. Sadauki said though the NDE has recorded an appreciably high number of positive impact on its job creation initiatives nationwide, a lot still need to be done in accordance with the change mantra of the present administration.
“Therefore, I want to use this opportunity to sincerely commend the distinguished Senator Abba Moro who keyed into the mandate of the Directorate in job creation and poverty alleviation to improve on the lives of members of his Constituency. I advise the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment to improve their lives and that of other members of their community”, he passionately appealed.
Representative of the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District Comrade Abba Moro, Ujah Samuel reiterated the senator’s desire to improve the lives of his constituents through job creation and poverty eradication.
While Mr Joseph Oche Godwin Coordinator of a Foundation called G12, advised the beneficiaries to use the equipment to improve their lives and not to sell them.
