NDE disburses loans to beneficiaries

The National Directorate of Employment yesterday disbursed resettlement loans, equipment and cash components to graduates of the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme, EBTS.
The program is domiciled under the Special Public Works Department of the agency for 2018 trainees.
Disbursing the loan to the beneficiaries, the Director General, NDE Dr. Nasiru Mohammed who was represented by Mr. Andrew Bassey, an Assistant Director said NDE has been strongly supportive and consistently investing in Nigerian youths, noting that it has used the EBTS initiative to offer her youthful school leavers’ participants, employability skills and experiential learning experiences that transfer hard and soft landscaping skills to them.
He added that the employment outlook of graduates of this laudable program is excellent as they have been equipped with in-demand skills sought for in the construction industry, hence, they are open to explore diverse opportunities to provide services to projects in the sector which include, environmental renewal, sanitation, protection and beautification, ornamentation to finishing of structures, grasping and ornamental tree planting, habitat conservation amongst others.
“NDE has provided requisite tools and cash to a total of 416 graduates of EBTS in the 36 States and Federal Capital Territory, FCT to start and grow their businesses as budding landscaping services operators. In doing so, we have boosted job creation and spurred the youths to contribute their quota to the national economy.
“Remember in your sub-conscious that these loans must be repaid as at when due n accordance with the loan repayment schedule you received. There is no free lunch anywhere.
