National Council of Women Society Nasarawa State branch has called on the administration of Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State to support the council in order to enable it achieve its set target in the area of development in the state and beyond.
The state branch president, Mrs. Aishetu Idoma made the appeal in an interview with newsmen shortly after the Association Congress Meeting held at the conference hall of the NURTW Makurdi Road Lafia, the State capital.
According to her, “NCWS is an association that caters for the needs of women and children. “It is an association that brings women together.
It is a pressure group that fights for the course of women. It is non profitable association, governmental, religious or political.”
Aishetu who further observed that women all over the globe play vital role in all spheres of development, called for their involvement in the scheme of things especially during this political era.
“I am calling on the state governor, A.A. Sule to come to our aid by assisting us in our plan to construct a secretariat in Lafia the state capital. We need help from government, agencies and individuals to enable us erect our secretariat complex. I urge government to key into our association so that we can have better structure tomorrow for our society. The contributions of women as mothers is very tremendous. I admonished government under the leadership of Engineer Sule to assist us to build our office and embark on other activities tailored toward the development of our dear state and the nation,” Idoma added.
Aishetu however, implored the entire people of the state to support Engr. A.A. Sule to move the state to the next level of development, adding that women are fully in support of the Engr. Sule government’s policy aimed at transforming the state industrially.
