NAYES coordinator, Mainahas seeks more collaboration to curb crime

The Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Scheme, NAYES, Coordinator Abdullahi Labaran Mainahas has called on the conventional security operatives in the state to work in synergy with NAYES for the overall aim of fishing the bad elements in the state.
Abdullahi made the observation while narrating the achievements of NAYES towards combating crime since its establishment in the state.
According to him, “NAYES is complementing the activities of the conventional police and other agencies in the state. In 2019 we apprehended so criminals with 500 cows that were stolen from Taraba in Awe LGC.
“We apprehended criminals who Stole a car from Anambra in Lafia. We apprehended two criminals in Doma LGC with AK47. All these Criminals were handed over to the police and Civil Defense Corps for further investigations. My people know the terrain very well.
“The NAYES is assisting the police and other agencies immensely. I call on the security agencies to Co-operate with NAYES in order to fish out car snatchers, kidnappers and other bad elements who hid and operate in the state,” he explained.
He continued, “Our biggest challenges is mobility. We are appealing to our listening Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule and other stakeholders to assist us with mobility (Vehicles). NAYES is determined and committed to fight bad elements in the society. I call on the general public to also feed NAYES personnel with useful information on the activities of bad eggs in their Domain.”
“I must commend the NSCDC and other security operatives for giving NAYES security training in 2019. I plead that NAYES should be given another opportunity for 2020 combined security training,” he added.
Abdullahi who noted that since inception, the organization has been playing a significant role especially in the forestry, traffic, combating criminals as well as maintaining of law and order in the state as according to him “NAYES should be supported by stakeholders. I must thank the Government of Nasarawa State for its immense assistance.
