The Nasarawa State government has disclosed its commitment to the growth and development of Teqball in the state.
The state’s commissioner for youth and sports, Othman Bala Adamu stated this when members of the Nasarawa State Teqball Association Executive Council members paid him a familiarisation visit in his office on Monday.
The Teqball delegation was led by its chairman, David Allu who told the commissioner that the council was in his office to officially introduce the beautiful game of Teqball and need to work in collaboration with the sports ministry for the development and growth of the sport in the state.
In his speech, the Commissioner who expressed delight over the new sport, thanked the Chairman and his team for counting the Ministry worthy of involvement and commended the spirit of sportsmanship they have shown.
The Commissioner welcomed the development and assured the Excos of the ministry’s support and involvement in the game.
He wished the association all the best and promised to inform the Governor
of the latest development.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alh. Abdullahi Aliyu Agwai who was also present during the visit, congratulated the Teqball officials and assured the Exco of his support.
Similarly, the state’s Director of Sports, Mr. Shammah wished the team the very best adding that it was an opportunity for the youths to harness their potentials.
The Teqball delegation was made up of the chairman, David A Allu; Vice Chairman, Umar Khalid Baban Amarya; Attakyun Akolo Daniel Nasarawa State Coordinator of Referees and Lami Thelma Ogah, Secretary of the association.
