A group, under the aegis of  Concerned citizens of Nasarawa State Resident in Kaduna  State, yesterday applauded the seven-member panel investigating allegations of gross misconduct against Governor Umaru Al-Makura for dismissing all charges against the governor.

The group described the panel decision as a welcome development that needed commendations from the true citizens of the state as they equally condemned in stronger term the impeachment move against the governor by PDP legislators in the state.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Abdulkarim Sabo Keana, the group said the concerned citizens of Nasarawa state resident in Kaduna were seriously concerned with the unprecedented impeachment saga because they were clearly not in support of such Act.

“We are happy with the decision by the panel to dismiss the allegations against the governor because it was aimed at causing set back to the government and people of Nasarawa State. Our group View the impeachment saga as political and the move did not take into consideration the interest of generality of the people of the State who have been demonstrating against the Impeachment,” he said.

According to him, their group is solidly behind Governor Al-makura who have not only transformed the state but had developed the state to the level that the previous governments of the state have not done in the last 12 years.

Keana called on the legislators to rethink the consequences of their action in order not to turn Nasarawa state into tumoil, saying that they should put the interest and development of the state above their personal interest aim at achieving peace and progress.

He reminded the legislators not to allow the enemies of peace, unity and development of Nasarawa state to use them in order to cause crisis and confusion to the state saying that they should immediately drop the idea of impeachment and join hands with the people’s governor for the progress of the state.

Keana also called on the people of the state to remain united and to give all the needed support and cooperation to Governor Almakura to enable them continue to enjoy the dividends of Good governance in the State.
