Nasarawa: Group canvasses support for Speaker to retain seat for 2nd term

The Egbira National Development Association (ENDA), has advocated the need for the re-election of the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi for second term to led the forthcoming sixth Assembly considering his leadership qualities.
The President of the Association, Alhaji Gani Shafa made the call on yesterday when the group paid a courtesy call on the speaker at the Assembly complex in Lafia the state capital.
The Association maintained that their visit was to congratulate the speaker on his re-election as member representing Umaisha/ Ugya constituency at the state legislature.
They added that Balarabe- Abdullahi had done a lot in bringing the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of the constituency and the state at large.
According to them “We are proud of you. You have united the fifth Assembly as well as attracted development to our constituency, Toto Local Government and the state at large. Your leadership qualities had brought about the good working relationship between the executive and the legislature in the state.
“Our prayer is for you to retain your position as speaker for second term so as to lead the forthcoming sixth assembly in order to take the state to the next level of development,” The association added.
Responding, the Speaker commended them for the visit and identify with him on his re-election as member representing Umaisha/Ugya constituency.
Balarabe-Abdullahi re-assured the Egbira community of his continued loyalty and support for his people at all times in the interest of development.
He emphasized the need for Egbira community to love and tolerate one another irrespective of their religious and political affiliation.
