The Nasarawa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has assured local government workers that the state government will continue to sustain the 100 percent payment of salaries monthly.
Commissioner of the ministry, Haruna Osegba who announced this yesterday in Lafia during the joint account meeting of LGAs, added that the state government had decided to an end the era of payment in percentages since September 2018 as a way of bettering the welfare of workers.
Our correspondent reports that the local government workers have been paid in percentages since September 2016.
Haruna Osegba who was represented during the meeting by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Bala Sani. Maintained that the government would continue to pay full salaries as at when due even if there is shortfall or delay in allocations.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Mohammed Addis informed the meeting that the governor had given approval for the replacement of health workers who have died, retired, resign and transfer their service across the Local Government Area Councils of the state.
He, however, cautioned Directors of health in all the LGAs for failing to submit the list of the deceased staff among others to fill the existing vacancies.
