Nasarawa govt pledges support for security agencies

In a bid toward ensuring the protection of lives and property of the citizens, the Nasarawa state government has assured the NSCDC and other relevant security outfits in the state of its commitment to support them for effective operations aimed at protecting lives and property of the citizen.
Governor Sule made the assertion Monday during the launching of Agro Rangers and one week symposium organized by the Nasarawa State Command of NSCDC in collaboration with Nigeria Medical Association Nasarawa State branch held at the NSCDC Command headquarters Lafia.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy Dr. Emmanuel Akabe said that the establishment of the Agro-Rangers unit by the NSCDC command would go along to protect Agro Allied as well as guide against cattle rustling and prevent herder/farmers skirmishes in the state.
According to him “I urged officers of the NSCDC to utilize the training effectively for the public to benefit. It is imperative that the collaboration with Nigeria Medical Association is a welcome development aimed at maintaining the physical fitness of the officers at all times”.
We therefore applauded the tremendous effort of NSCDC operatives in the state for protecting Agro-Allied lives and property of citizens in the state as according to him “Government appreciate your laudable achievements so far recorded”.
In his welcome address at the event, the state commandant of NSCDC Muhammad Kidado Fari said the command had trained 313 officers on Agro-Rangers which according to him “The officers are saddled with the sole responsibilities of protecting Agro-Allied, cattles and as well as ensuring harmonious co-existence between herder and farmers in the state.
“The collaboration with the Nigeria Medical Association with NSCDC is to ensure regular physical fitness of officers while discharging their responsibilities,” Muhammad added.
