The Arewa Consultative Forum secretary general Mr. Anthony Sani has implored all the political parties in the state to zone the governorship seat for 2019 general elections to Nasarawa North for equity and fairness.
Mr. Anthony made the appeal in an interview with newsmen shortly after a meeting of Mada stakeholders where the deputy governor Hon. Silas Ali Agara formerly declared his aspiration to contest the number one seat of the state with a call on the entire people of Nasarawa State to accord him the desired support in order to actualize his dream.
According to him, “This meeting is at the instance of the deputy governor. Having declared his ambition to contest the governorship, we, the Mada peoples, have agreed. We are appealing to the entire Nasarawa people to give the needed support”.
“We are calling on the entire people of the state to zone the governorship to Nasarawa North. We are appealing to all political parties in the state to zone their governorship to Nasarawa North. Let the whole state take a decision and zone the seat to Nasarawa North Zone,” he added.
The ACF secretary general also noted that if such is done, it would give all the zones their sense of belonging, inclusiveness, fairness, peace and togetherness.
Also speaking with newsmen, a former commissioner in the then Plateau State,
Barrister Joshua Barau, called on all prominent “Mada sons and Daughters” as well as the entire state to rally round Hon Silas Agara’s ambition to contest the governorship seat in 2019 general election, in order to enable him realize his dream.
“I call on all zones in the state to support him. As stakeholders in Mada nation, we endorse Agara for the governorship. We are appealing to all the ethnic nationalities in Nasarawa to give ample support to Agara. He needed our support from Nasarawa West, South and North,” Barrister Barau maintained.
