NAHCON sensitizes Ulma , intending pilgrims on new hajj policies

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON) said its sensitizing intending pilgrims and Ulma on the new hajj polices given by Kingdom of Saudi Arabian .
The Chairman of NAHCON Barr. Abdullah Muhammad, who made the disclosure during a One- Day sensitization and enlightenment Programme for Ulama and Intending Pilgrims for the 2018 Hajj yesterday in Abuja .
Barr. Muhammade said “it has become very important for the commission to have a Town Hall meeting to educate ,enlighten sensitized and engaged intending pilgrims and Ulma on the upcoming 2018 hajj pilgrimage,in order to carry them along with the dynamic change on ground .
He said in this year’s hajj pilgrimage the kingdom of Saudi Arabian has introduced 5% Value Added Tax(VAT) on any transactions of goods and services ,biometric capturing ,early registration and endorsement of participants by the Imans.
“Pilgrims have to register early in this 2018 hajj pilgrimage because the Islamic calendar is changing .we used to travel for hajj in December but you can see now that the calendar is going back”.
Also,Pilgrims should endeavour to paid their traveling fee before the Ramadan fast because of the changing in the calendar. Saudi Arabian has urged every country must complete preparations before Shaban that’s May 2018 “, Barr. Muhammad pointed out .
He emphasized that the commission is given ending of March 2018 for intending pilgrims , individuals and both government and private sponsors to registered early for their intended pilgrims .
Meanwhile, he said another new rule introduced is the engaging of Imans .
“They lmans will have to endorse and testify that those traveling for hajj are Muslims and well known in various mosques,” He said.
