The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed has been commended for his faithful execution of the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan especially through the provision of standard housing and infrastructural facilities.

According to the pioneer Chairman of the Bayelsa State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Joshua Igbubguru, the Ibenabowei (King) of Bomo Kingdom, Bayelsa State, who made the commendation in an interview with newsmen in Abuja, the incumbent FCT Minister has a healthy reputation for recording extraordinary achievements

The royal father, who was also former Chairman of old Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, spoke against the background of the recent epoch-making flag-off of the construction of 40,000 housing units for workers by the FCT Administration described the scheme as unprecedented in the history of the nation.

Also, apart from the workers housing scheme, he identified the land swap policy introduced by Senator Bala Mohammed in FCT as another revolutionary measure that has contributed in no small way to the acceleration of housing development in the nation’s capital.

“It is indeed an outstanding act in vision and courageous leadership for a minister to initiate and embark on the opening of ten new districts in Abuja at a go.

“You know that before this minister came on board, Abuja was facing serious crisis of scarcity of approved houses and illegal developments everywhere; but today anywhere you go in Abuja there are thousands of modern estates, offices and houses springing up.

“This will go a long way to help achieve the target of decent housing for all and also carter for the large number of people relocating to Abuja from all parts of this great country,” he added.

King Igbubguru attributed the Minister’s success story to his strong will power and commitment to the Nigeria project.

Specifically, the monarch emphasized that the Bauchi-born Minister has endeared himself to many people in the Niger Delta and Bayelsa State, in particular because of his unalloyed loyalty and support for President Goodluck Jonathan. Bala is a great leader and a detribalized Nigerian indeed.

The revered monarch stressed further: “We, in the Niger Delta and Bayelsa State in particular, are very mindful of the 100 percent love, loyalty and commitment of the FCT Minister to the administration of our illustrious son, His Excellency, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who God and majority of Nigerians have put in the exalted position of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria today.

“We commend Bala Mohammed for his undiluted support of President Jonathan and his transformation agenda which is aimed at repositioning Nigeria for comprehensive development.”

Peoples Daily reports that Igbubguru, a first class king, was former Chairman of Council of Traditional Rulers of old Rivers and member of old Eastern Nigeria Council of Traditional Rulers.

He is reputed to be one of the longest serving traditional rulers in Nigeria, having been crowned as the Ibenabowei (King) of Bomo Kingdom, Bayelsa State at the age of 18 in 1958.

The highly respected traditional ruler was conferred with the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) in 2007.
