The District Head of Tugan Madaki Community, Jiwa ward in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Haruna Daudu, has begged the FCT Minister Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello as well as the Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido to as a matter of urgency reconstruct the collapsed bridge in Tugan Madaki Community for the sake of residents plying the road.
The District Head, who spoke to our Correspondent in his Palace on Sunday, appealed to the minister and AMAC chairman to join hands to take quick action on the reconstruction of the bridge.
He said the collapsed bridge had presented the students/people to attend school in the community, pointing out that the bridge is a major challenge facing the community presently.
He specifically pleaded with AMAC chairman to help them easing their plight, noting that the collapsed bridge had cut-off the people from neighbouring communities.
Daudu, however, had identified lack of bad road and portable water as among the most pressing issues facing them in the community for so long now.
In their separate interviews, Mallam Al-hassan Poyi, the Madaki of Tugan Madaki and Alhaji Ibrahim Garkuwa who is also the Wakili of Tugan Madaki, called on both the Minister and AMAC chairman to come to their aid by reconstructing the collapsed bridge.
The Madaki particularly said several attempts in getting help from the Government in the past over the reconstruction of the bridge proved futile, but expressed hope that this time around the government of the day would do something about the collapsed bridge as the road is worrisome especially to the farmers.
The Madaki lamented lack of basic amenities in the community, called on the FCT Administration to build Senior Secondary School as well to rehabilitate the dilapidated roads in the community.
However, Mr. Akoro Bala Muhammadu, one of the residents, said the collapsed bridge had paralysed the socio-economic activities of the community.
Muhammad also said the collapsed bridge had denied them access to healthcare centre in the area, and called for quick intervention from the government of the day.
Not left out, the community leader of Tugan Ashere, Mr. Sani Yakubu, charged the senator representing the FCT, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda and a Member of House of Representatives representing AMAC/Bwari Constituency, Hon. Jiba Micah to do something about the collapsed to arrest the suffering of the people.
