A Fulani Socio-cultural Association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has denied the involvement of its members in the killings in Benue state.
The group demanded for retraction and apology of alleged false and defamatory publication by an Abuja based national daily newspaper suggesting that the group sponsors attacks.
While condemning the publication, the Fulani group’s leader insisted that they have never sponsored attack anywhere within or outside Nigeria nor did they sponsor any deadly attack in any local government of Benue state.
A statement by the national President of the association, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, said they have instructed their lawyer to write the media house over the false, malicious and mischievous story published about them.
According to Bodejo, the said publication headlined: “Fulani Herdsmen attack: 500 persons missing in Benue, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore accused of sponsoring 40 attacks between 2013-2016 was carried in the Nigeria Pilot Newspaper ont page 7 of 25-26 November 2017 edition.
