National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a Fulani socio-cultural association, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo yesterday received Sardauna award of excellence as an icon of exemplary leadership from Ahmadu Bello University Students Representative Council (ABUSRC), Zaria.
Also, Bodejo received other awards, which includes national outstanding leadership award as icon of societal transformation by Northern Youth Initiative for Peace and Good governance (NYIPGG) and pillar and role model, an icon of peace by the Faculty of Social Science Students Association (FOSSA), Nasarawa state University, Keffi.
Equally, the Fulani leader got an award from Association of Northern Nigeria Students (ANNS) and Nigeria Association of Muslim Law Students (NAMLAS).
Presenting the awards to the recipient in Tudun-wada, Karu local government area of Nasarawa state, on behalf of others, National Coordinator of NYIPGG, Umar Faruk Lawal stated that the award given to Bodejo is a recognition of his immense contribution towards nation building and human educational development, and youth empowerment for the benefit of Nigeria at large.
According to him, ABUSRC award is a recognition for his tremendous contribution and selfless services to humanity by ensuring peace, stability and harmony in the community and his doggedness in leading the good people of Fulanis to be worthy of emulation in Nigeria
He added that FOSSA recognised him for his laudable performance, charismatic display of leadership, noble values of integrity, immense contribution towards peace and unity among youths and promotion of welfare and effort toward effective education among students.
Lawal said further that youth and students have been monitoring the activities of Bodejo and discovered that he is a peace loving Nigerian, that is why he was selected as one of their awardee in 2018.
“We see Bodejo ad a man of peace; good relationship with others, a man that youths benefited from and he is a man of character discipline that believed in one Nigeria,” he said.
Accepting the awards, Alhaji Bodejo thanked the youth and students for tracing hid good records of achievement, saying that the awards would spur him to do more good things to the society.
He said his Association will partner with both the students and youths to move Nigeria forward, calling on them to always cooperate with him in order to find a lasting solutions to the incessant herdsmen and farmers crisis in the country
