From Yakubu Mustapha,Minna.

Two corpses of applicants who sat for the recruitment exercise of the Nigeria Immigration Services at Day Secondary School, Minna, who died during the stampede, were released for burial in Minna yesterday.

Peoples Daily’s findings revealed that the relations of the deceased were in Minna General Hospital mortuary yesterday to collect their corpses amidst tears while the 15 injured were also discharged from the hospital to rejoin their families.

The Public Relations’ Officer of Niger State Hospital Management Agency, Mustapha Mu’azu confirmed that those brought into the hospital in critical state, as well as those with minor injuries were all treated and discharged.

He said that seven were discharged on Sunday, while eight of the remaining fifteen were discharged yesterday.

It was gathered that 11,000 applicants attended the IMS recruitment examination last Saturday in Minna, but the exercise culminated in stampede leading to deaths and causalities.
