MFM FC centre back Monsuru Bashiru has said his side will end their search for away point(s) in the on-going top-flight at former champions Enyimba.
The Olukoya Boys are guests of the seven-time Nigerian champions today’s rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 11 clash at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
Prior to the matchup Enyimba went to Damaturu to hold the hosts, Yobe Desert Stars, to a 1-1 draw in matchday 14 clash while the church-owned side came from behind to defeat newcomers Katsina United 2-1 in Lagos.
Bashiru said his side is determined to prove doubters wrong that the Lagos outfit are only good at winning matches on their home ground.
“Our sole mission in Calabar is to claim our first away point(s) of the on-going league season at Enyimba.
“We have steeled ourselves to go for the whole three points at stake or worst case scenario claim a point.
“We have resolved to avoid defeat in the clash no matter how tough the hosts come out to be.
“People have written us off as bad travellers. We want to prove them wrong by getting a positive result at Enyimba.
“We intend to head off to Omoku to challenge newcomers, Go Round FC on Sunday for the whole three points at stake.
“We are not expecting any cheap opposition from either Enyimba or the Omoku side, Go Round FC.
“Enyimba are an experienced and strong side, they have been on the terrain longer than us, but we will give them the toughest fight of their lives in the clash.
“We want to break the chain of poor results on the road and nothing will be too tough for us to go through in order to achieve the mark we set for ourselves,” said the Lagos side strongman said.
MFM FC has garnered 19 points from a possible 42 in the 14-match-old top-flight with a game to spare against former champions Enugu Rangers.
