Medical Women Association donates medical items to Delta Primary Health Center

As part of measures to improve health care services in the rural areas, the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Delta State chapter has donated medical items to Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Idumuje Unor.
Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Oseji, National President, MWAN and also the Permanent Secretary, Delta State Ministry of Health made the donation on behalf of the Association on Thursday at the Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Idumuje Unor, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State..
According to her “Medical Women Association of Nigeria embarked on a nation-wide project to promote maternal, newborn and child health in one health facility in each State of the Federation of which Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Idumuje Unor is the 2019-2021 Biennial adopted health facility for MWAN, Delta State Chapter”.
She said the interventions to be implemented during the period include training, provision of medical equipment and flyers for health education as well as supportive supervision and these will be later evaluated using data.
Explaining the implementation of the Association’s laid out interventions, Dr. Oseji said one batch of training has been conducted for the Matron, while the provision of medical equipment is what is being done now with the intention to attract support from Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI) to the Clinic.
Items donated include face masks, hand washing buckets, flyers, reproductive health manuals, drugs and consumables.
The Community Health Worker, Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Idumuje Unor, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Mrs. Anwadike Blessings who received the items on behalf of the Clinic’s Matron thanked the Association for the good gesture and promised judicious use and distribution of the items for the benefit of the community memb
