The Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola,MAUTECH would be graduating 5,156 students during its 23rd convocation ceremony slated for Saturday 4th November.2017 in Yola Adamawa state.
Vice Chancellor of the University,Professor Kyari Muhammad disclosed the development at a press conference held in Yola Tuesday stressing that 3,279 would be accorded bachelor’s degrees of different classes.
Professor Kyari said for higher degrees,76 post graduate diplomas,496 Masters and 40 PhDs candidates will be graduated in various disciplines noting that certificates of all candidates will be issued on the day of convocation ceremony.
He also appealed to the Federal government to as a matter of urgent public importance review its earlier decision on the ban on admission in to management related programs by Technology based universities Insisting that such stand is detrimental to education development.
Kyari lamented that Mautech is situated in the North Eastern states where Boko Haram insurgency has affected all sectors negatively noting that the adversaries are anti education hence best response is to provide education on a massive scale.
According to the Vice Chancellor, three prominent personalities will be honored with honorary doctorate degrees of letters namely; Mallam Muhammadu Mubi,a retired teacher,Comrade Hassan Suunmonu,a veteran labour activist,and General Abdulsalami Abubakar,a former military head of state.
