Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has tasked parents and care givers in the state to pay special attention to the ongoing immunization against measles.
Masari stated this yesterday while speaking at the flag off of immunization campaign against measles in Batagarawa local government area.
He noted that it was the responsibility of parents, especially husbands to make sure that their children are immunized against all the deadly childhood killer diseases.
Masari disclosed that a total number of 55, 393 children were targeted for the immunization in Batagarawa local government, where he said 65,400 vaccines were provided for the exercise.
The governor attributed the health problems faced in the state to years of neglect by the previous governments promising to take measures to address the problems.
Earlier in her speech, the state Commissioner of Health, Mariah Bala Usman expressed the readiness of the ministry and health workers recruited in ensuring the success of the campaign.
She added that their target was to make Katsina State number in the immunization exercise, calling on all stakeholders to give in their best for the success of the immunization campaign.
