Governor Aminu Bello Masari has signed the state’s 2018 budget of over N213.6 billion into law.
He signed the document before members of the state House of Assembly.
The draft budget proposes a capital expenditure of N161 billion and a recurrent expenditure of N52 billion.
Shortly after signing the budget, the governor commended the members of the state assembly for expediting action on the appropriation bill and passing it before the commencement of the 2018 financial year.
He expressed confidence that the 2018 budget will record a higher performance than the 2017 budget.
Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Yahaya Kusada explained that the house had carried out a painstaking review of the budget provisions before coming up with an increment of N2.2 billion naira on the budget draft.
He explained that the approved budget document has maintained a capital expenditure of 75% and a recurrent expenditure of 25%.
