Everton manager Roberto Martinez has hailed Samuel Eto’o as a godsend since his arrival to Goodison Park arrival in August. The veteran striker joined Everton after his one year contract with Chelsea expired. The Cameroonian was also courted by Liverpool who later settled for Italian striker Mario Balotelli.
And while Balotelli has struggled to make an impact, Eto’o is already well on the way to cult status across Stanley Park especially with his brace against Burnley last Sunday which ensured that Everton posted back to back victories.
“To have Samuel in here is like a gift from the footballing gods. To have someone of his experience is the perfect ingredient for our young players.
“The way he’s been training and working to a perfect fitness peak has been of pristine professionalism,” Martinez said.
“He’s really excited and stimulated to show the fans what he can do and I think he’s enjoying it. Eto’o, 33, has netted four goals in all competitions since joining Everton in August.
