The leader of the market women and men association of Nigeria, Mrs Felicia Sanni has tasked youths across the nation, to embrace hard work as the only key to lasting success.
Speaking at a reception organized in Abuja, to commemorate the veteran Nigerian, for the award of National honours conferred on her by the Presidency, Mrs Sanni told youths at the event that laziness is the only weapon to poverty and un-fulfillment.
“I have told you several times laziness kills, but hard work does not kill; do not spend your money on irrelevant things.” She charged the youths to always conduct themselves positively and avoid negative exploits.
“What I will advise you to do is to always do well. Avoid negative or bad things.
She said her resolve to help women, was motivated by an encounter at her youth, which made her crave to help women identify the significance of themselves as members of the society. “I was going on holiday to Aba,, there was a fatal accident in vehicle wed had boarded. So many market women died and they dug the ground and buried them, then I said when I grow up I will organise women and train them so that anywhere they are going they will be recognised.
Mrs Sanni said as Nigerians, we had the responsibility to help each other for the benefit of the nation at large, stressing that a good gesture extended, only to one’s family is not enough.
The Market leader was conferred with the award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger, (OON).
