A 26 year old man, Eson Fatgoel has been arrested by the police in Guyuk local government Area of Adamawa state for alleged money counterfeit.
In a statement issued in Yola weekend, spokesman of the command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje said the suspect was allegedly circulating the fake naira notes in several transactions in Guyuk,Lafiya-Lamurde and Numan respectively.
DSP Nguroje attested that the suspect when apprehended was in possession of some fake naira notes, urging the public to be watchful and careful as the already spent ones are still in circulation in those areas.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the counterfeit notes are still in circulation in those areas and the public particularly traders should observe carefully while trading in exchange so as to avoid falling a victim.
“The Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adeyanju while assuring that much is being done to preventing the circulation of the counterfeit notes enjoins residents to report any suspicious person or group around their neighbourhoods to the nearest police division or report same through any of the police command control/emergency numbers : 08089671313,0810736494 and 08053872326”.Nguroje added.
He also appealed to parents and guardians to be watchful of the kind of company their children are keeping with a view not to be lured in to some societal vices.
