Leave Abuja streets in 2 weeks -AMMC warns prostitutes

Rough times await commercial prostitutes roaming major streets of Abuja, the nation’s capital city, as the city managers have given them a two-week ultimatum to leave the streets.
According to the Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Umar Shuaibu who handed down the warning, the government is very worried by the increasing number of sex workers in the city.
Shuaibu, while issuing the threat yesterday, during a media briefing on the activities of the council, said at the expiration of the ultimatum, officials will commence comprehensive night patrol, aimed at raiding notorious spots.
His words:”Presently, commercial sex workers have started parading themselves along the major streets of the city.
“The Council in collaboration with the Social Development Secretariat and other security agencies has embarked on sensitisation campaign to last for two weeks after which we shall start night patrol, to rid the street of the menace of commercial sex workers.”
