The senator representing Adamawa central in the Senate, Abdul’aziz Murtala Nyako, has been honoured over his constituency outreach in his state.
The publisher of The Periscope, a weekly Newspaper, Adamu Muhamad Dodo, while speaking at the award ceremony said that a committee was set up to examine the performance of the three senators in the state and they recommended senator Nyako.
The statement said Nyako was found top in terms of constituency outreach and the North East Development Commission that became an Act under his chairmanship as Senate Committee on Special Duties.
He also cited the Not Too Young to Run Bill that would enable youths to run for elective positions up to presidential level in the country, which he championed.
It explained that the award commemorates the 2nd anniversary of the newspaper which was aimed at encouraging productivity and humanitarian gesture to individuals and group in the society.
He further appreciated outstanding performance to people who has distinguished themselves in their various works in the state, saying that Senator Nyako’s enviable leadership style and contributions earned him the award.
Receiving the award, Nyako expressed gratitude to the newspaper for noticing his contributions to the people and encouraged them to continue to be the vanguard of the society.
