The Vice chairman of the House Committee on FCT, Lady Blessing Onuh lauded the Federal government for its reinforced empowerment projects drive for women and youth.
Onuh, a member representing Otukpo-Ohimini Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, noted that the projects have impacted positively on the lives of those in her constituency.
The APGA Lawmaker, who was a two-time secretary for social Development in the FCT says with the empowerment many in her constituency are now receiving the dividends of democracy.
The Lawmaker, who is also the daughter of two-time Senate President, David Mark while giving a breakdown of some Federal government’s projects and programmes in her constituency, called for speedy address of the infrastructural challenges in Benue south senatorial district.
According to her the federal government through the NDLEA in conjunction with her office hold and Advocacy and Youth Sensitization on Drugs and Narcotics in five villages of Otukpo; the communities are Ondo , Igaluwa, Ogwudu, Ilaba, all in Ugboju and Ojakpama in Adoka.
Onuh said under the empowerment of the NDE programme in AGADAGBA in Ohimini Local Government Area , over 350 sawing machines were distributed to individuals for self reliance.
She disclosed that there was distribution of Empowerment Materials in conjunction with NDE, adding that under this sowing machines were distributed in Ojakpama village in Adoka and over 350 villagers benefited.
She disclosed thay her office in partnership with the National productivity Centre held an empowerment programme in Akpachi in Otukpo during which 250 Motorcycles were distributed to the villagers for commercial purposes.
