From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi
A member representing Warji Constituency Hamza Gawo under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State House Of Assembly has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, just as the APC described the move as a political suicide.
Hamza Gawu issued a letter to the Speaker of the House, Yahya Miya yesterday who read the letter on the floor of the House during plenary, saying his decision to decamp to the PDP was as a result of the gigantic project put in his constituency by PDP administration.
He said he decamped due to the “gigantic efforts made by the present administration in transforming all nooks and crannies of the state especially my constituency which include projects like, construction of Miya – Warji road, connection of Miya -Warji and other major towns in the council with electricity from the national grid, construction of township roads in Katanga, renovation of Katanga Government Secondary School, and construction of Junior Secondary and Primary Schools in the area”.
He said that “opposition parties are meant to checkmate government in power so that they can correct their mistakes, but it wasn’t so in the state because the entire APC is in disarray which has made them not to conduct credible congress in wards LGAs and the state”.
While reacting the Minority Leader of the State House of Assembly Baba Abubakar Suleiman APC representing Azare Madangala and the State Secretary APC Media Committee Nasiru Ibrahim Darazo said the APC will not loose anything because he is a liability who has lost touch with the people of his constituency.
Baba suleiman said the member has commit political sucide “because he is going loose all the political relevant and may be the little respect he has from his constituency”.
