Former Senator representing Kwara State Central district and gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Gbemisola Rukayyat Saraki, has paid tuition fees and allowances of eight Law students who are going to Law school.

Saraki who gave each beneficiary N295, 000 as tuitions fees and N55, 000 for their allowances, paid the fees and gave the students their Law School pins for further registration at various Law schools across the country.

The indigent students, who were from Kwara State, contacted Saraki on Facebook for assistance and she responded prompted.

Speaking at the disbursement of the scholarship in her residence, Saraki, who was represented by her Special Assistance on the award of full scholarship to Law Students Applicant, Mrs. Tawa Yusuf, described Education as the greatest gift that any generation can bequest to the next. ‘It is in recognition of this fact that Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, has been persistently giving out scholarships to worthy students from 1995 till date. Her passion for education can be seen through the various scholarship and educational development programmes she has instituted, even as a private citizen.

“Sen. Gbemisola Saraki enjoyed the best education her time could afford and this has propelled her forward in ways beyond her imagination. This has placed a burden on her heart to make sure that others too enjoy what she enjoyed. She wants people to succeed like she has done. It is her firm belief that people with education are unstoppable in their quest for success”, Saraki aide said.

She said apart from the Law School scholarship and other tertiary institution scholarships, she has placed over twenty indigent students on scholarships at various international private secondary schools in the country. These students are mostly orphans, a category of people that the society has thought will never amount to anything and has neglected.”

Responding, Abubakar Issa Imam, a law student of University of Maiduguri said apart from the scholarship, when Boko Haram attacked his university, Senator Gbemisola Saraki responded to their distress calls by providing means for Kwara state students to be evacuated from the trouble zone before the crisis was settled.

He commended the first daughter of late Dr. Olusola Saraki for coming to their rescue stressing that without her gesture, the beneficiaries might not make it to Law school.
