The traditional ruler of Sapati-Ile in Asa local government area of Kwara state, Alhaji AbdulRahman Suleiman-Ajadi has cried out against the poor condition of roads leading to the community.
The monarch, who spoke with journalists yesterday at his palace, appealed to the state government to come to their aid.
Alhaji Ajadi said the major road leading to the town from Ganmo has been washed away by erosion, thereby making it impassable.
He noted that another road from the Sapati International School was so bad that it gets flooded any time it rains, lamenting that the community has been cut-off from the outside world.
He said that no commercial activity takes place in the town as a result of the bad roads, while the socio-economic life of the community has been paralyzed due to the damage to the main road over by rainfall.
“Because of the deplorable condition of the road, it has been difficult for my people to sell their farm produce, because the only market in the town has stopped functioning”.
