Inhabitants of Nytse Mwamwa community in Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have decried lack of social amenities in the area, calling on the Council’s Chairman, Ibrahim Daniel, to come to their aid, so to alleviate the suffering of the people.
The residents said that despite persistent appeals to the past Chairmen of the council, on the urgent need to provide basic amenities in the community, nothing had been done to alleviate their plight in the area.
Spokesman of the community, Mr. Iliya Musa, urged the present the current leadership of the Council to deem it necessary to focus on the rapid infrastructural development of the community.
He however lament that the present leadership of the council had not carried out any development project in the area since the coming of the administration in May, 2013.
He said the road leading to the community from Kwaita is still in deplorable state, pointing out that people of the community are yet to feel the positive impact of the council.
According to him, the residents of the community have been neglected in area of provision of health care centre as well as primary school, a situation which the Council must do everything possible to address squarely without further delay.
He accused the Chairman of failing to drill boreholes in the community since he took over the mantle leadership of the Council, saying that the residents’ only source of drinking is a river, which they share with cows and other animals in the community.
Musa also disclosed that absence of electricity had made the situation worsen in the area, calling on the FCT administration to assist the Council to provide transformers to existing facilities, so as to boost electricity supply in the community.
The spokesman, further appealed to the Kwali Chairman to endeavour to visit the community and see things for himself regarding the bad condition of living in the area.
