he village head of kiyi community, in Kuje area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Jibrin Shaban, has appealed to the chairman of the Area council, Hon. Ishaku Tete, to provide potable drinking water for the people of the community.
He decried that during the dry season their wives used to suffer in search of water to even cook food for their husbands and children.
Shaban, who made the call in an interview with some newsmen in Kiyi, also urged the chairman to construct boreholes in the community, so as to alleviate the sufferings of the people, noting that the continued absence of water in the area had made some families to sleep with hunger.
He also appealed to the FCT Administration as well as the leadership of Kuje area council to rehabilitate the dilapidated link road from Kiyi village to Gwagwalada, in order to enable motorists plying the road to do so without many difficulties.
Furthermore, the community leader expressed dismay over what he described as ‘farm land invasion by the FCT administration’, and
requested the authorities of the council and the FCTA, to always carry the indigenes of Kiyi community along, when allocating any plots of land in the area, to some government officials in the area.
